Education Secretary Dr Uke Kombra has announced that his Department has come up with lessons and learning resources for some subjects for students to have access to during the State of Emergency (SoE) period. Mr Kombra marked that «this does not replace the planned curriculum, but an effort to keep students use their free time more productively, with the support of parents».
PNG Department of Education would use radio, television and the internet to deliver lessons and learning resources for some subjects during the SoE period. The department is also working with a partner on a dedicated application to be called MyPNGC19School. The application will be used for homework and self-tests produced by all teachers across PNG for students from elementary to year 12, and also for colleges.
At the Divine Word University in Wewak was opened the library at the St Benedict’s Campus. As stated Wewak Catholic Diocese Bishop Jozef Roszynski: «May this be a place for generations to come where people are enabled to rise to the challenge of daring to be wise».
